I hadn’t noticed this unusual book until very recently, but I’m glad I finally came across it. You are probably at least somewhat familiar with Derek Prime’s various writings on various biblical studies, and here he takes a distinctly pastoral tone to counsel those of us who are approaching our “senior” years. Very simply, this book is just superb, rich with insightful application of biblical instruction to older Christians. Best read one (brief) chapter per day for reflection. Designed for personal reading but a wonderful book for adult Bible study groups or Sunday School classes also. It’s aimed at the older generation, but in truth – as Alistair Begg mentions in his enthusiastic Foreword – it should be read while you’re still young: the counsel here is not for a new way of life now that you are old, but for a Christian way of thinking and living that by our senior years should be well-established.
An excellent, remarkably profitable, and very needed book eminently suited to you and everyone you know. Definitely five stars – very highly recommended!
