A Brief Book Notice from Books At a Glance
It has become common to summarize the primary emphases of the Protestant Reformation under the Latin phrases, sola Scriptura, solus Christus, sola gratia, sola fide, and sola Deo Gloria – Scripture alone, Christ alone, grace alone, faith alone, and glory to God alone. This may not hit on all that the Reformers thought so important, but it does point to foundational and central gospel issues that were at stake and that gave rise to their cause.
In honor of this 500th anniversary year of the Reformation Zondervan has published a timely series of books in their The Five Solas Series, under the editorship of Dr. Matthew Barrett, and we are pleased to see that all five of the volumes are now available.

This series was a great idea, given this 500th anniversary year, and each book is well-informed and well-presented with contemporary application. We could scarcely find topics more “relevant” to the church today. Highly recommended!
