A Brief Book Notice from Books At a Glance
The 39 Articles of the Anglican Church constitute one of the monuments of the Reformation. This confession of faith is not as widely known as, say, the Presbyterian Westminster Confession, and in fact, in many areas, it can seem difficult to find Anglicans who actually still confess it. But (my Baptist quibbles aside) it is an excellent statement of faith, well deserving of wider exposure.
Lee Gatiss assembled an excellent team of pastors and theologians, each to take up one of the Articles in devotional exposition. The 39 chapters make for warm yet stimulating reading and together provide a helpful overview of Bible doctrine.
This was a good idea. Theologians from other traditions may want to consider following suit with their respective Confessions!
