A Brief Book Notice from Books At a Glance
By Fred Zaspel
You may have heard that the NIV Zondervan Study Bible – NIVZSB – just might be the king of today’s many study Bibles. And you may have heard that Zondervan has rebranded it in order better to highlight its leading distinction: it’s now called The Biblical Theology Study Bible. But what you may not have heard is that it is available in Logos in Logos’s usual very convenient format. I’ve had the original (and very large) Study Bible since it was first released. I have not used it as my “regular” Bible but have kept it handy for reference. Just recently I was given the Logos version, and this handy reference tool just got much handier. I doubt I’ll go back to the print version. I now have it at a touch in my computer – and my iPad, and my cell phone.
I’ve recommended this Study Bible to many. The various essays included are superb, but its most valuable contribution is found in the in-text study notes – an excellent guide both for Bible study and for general “through the Bible” reading. It’s a first-class resource, valuable in any format, but … for my use, at least … it is much handier to have in the Logos format. And for a few dollars less, Logos also has a “notes only” version if you want.
Very highly recommended.
