Stephen Davis has been a church planter in the US, France, and Romania for over thirty-five years. He holds degrees from Bob Jones University (BA), Reformed Theological Seminary (MATS), Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv), Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (DMin in Missiology), and is presently a PhD candidate in Intercultural Studies at Columbia International University. He also holds hold two degrees in the French language from the Université de Nancy and the Ministre de l’Ėducation Nationale de France (DALF C-1). He is a bi-vocational elder at Grace Church of Philly (gracechurchphilly.org), a multilingual church in Philadelphia, trains pastors in French in Cameroon in the cities of Yaoundé and Douala, and works as a certified drug and alcohol therapist.
We are happy to make mention of two books Davis has just made available – two books that rise out of his extensive ministries. Theological and Missiological Competencies for Cross-Cultural Workers is divided into theological and missiological considerations, followed by cross-cultural competencies and cross-cultural challenges. The book concludes with recommendations for churches, missionary candidates, mission agency. This will serve as a basic guide for those considering or engaged in cross-cultural ministry.
The second book is Urban Church Planting: Journey into Depravity, Density & Diversity. Here he draws on his extensive church-planting experience – both in the US and abroad – to give a realistic perspective on urban church planting.
If you involved in urban church planting or cross-cultural ministries, you’ll want to check these out. Available in paperback and Kindle.
