On an afternoon 2,000 years ago, a couple of friends were walking from Jerusalem to Emmaus. A very ordinary–looking man joined them and asked what they were talking about. This was a strange question as one event had dominated most people’s conversations that weekend: the execution of Jesus of Nazareth.

However, the ordinary–looking man was not as clueless as they first thought… “beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself”. You see, their fellow–traveler wasn’t just a random guy – he was Jesus himself.

This book will take us into that conversation Jesus had with Cleopas and his friend and what he was trying to help them understand. It will take us on a tour of some of what “Moses and all the Prophets” said about Jesus. Who were they talking to? What did it mean to those people? How was any of it about Jesus?

We will look at thirty different places in the Bible where you can find a prophecy about Jesus.

Each chapter has the following extra features:

  • Prophet & Dates
  • Prophecy Made
  • Then and There
  • Prophecy Fulfilled
  • Scarlet Thread
  • Application
  • Prayer

Endorsements:

“Warning: this is not your typical kid’s book, watering down big truths and skipping over tough passages. Within these 100 pages you’ll find meaty teaching made accessible to young readers. Reynolds mines the depths of God’s Word, unearthing gems of Gospel truth from all corners of Scripture. I didn’t learn to read the Bible this way until arriving at seminary. Parents: read a chapter a day for family worship; middle schoolers: study it for personal devotions; teachers: use it as a resource for class curriculum. This is a wonderful book for equipping our children to see Christ in every page of Scripture, clearly demonstrating that “all the promises of God find their Yes in him.””

“With your children, grandchildren etc, I’d recommend your reading together a chapter a day to learn, reflect and pray your way through this helpful guide to some of the Bible’s wonderful prophecies that unmistakably point to the coming of the Lord Jesus. You won’t be disappointed!”

“… there is no better way to fuel a passion for the Kingdom, than to have a clear grasp of God’s faithfulness in keeping his promises. This beautifully designed book outlines thirty of God’s promises, joining each of them up with their Gospel fulfillment in Christ. A marvellous resource for children, parents, and Bible teachers.”

“This book is an excellent way to introduce young people to the topic of prophecy in Scripture. In clear, organized, and easy to understand explanations, Paul Reynolds points out how Scripture prepared the world for Christ’s coming and then recorded Christ’s fulfillment of those predictions. This book offers helpful insight for our modern lives with practical applications from Scripture and is ideal for personal or family devotions or a Sunday school setting.”
