A Brief Book Notice from Books At a Glance
By Fred G. Zaspel
Over the course of 2019 I taught the youth and adult Sunday School class at our church. The objective of this year-long course of study was to gain a closer – and specifically, a Christian – understanding of our changing culture. We focused on the issues that are shaping our society and that will confront university students in particular. We tracked the culture shift of the last generation or two, and then we examined in particular subjects like these:
- Postmodernism
- Truth
- Relativism (intellectual, moral, and religious)
- Is Jesus the Only Way? (Christian exclusivism)
- Scientism and Naturalism
- Creation and Evolution
- Homosexuality
- Gender Identity
- Transgenderism
- Cultural Marxism
It was a helpful course of study for me, at least … and I hope it was for others, too. Below is a list of books I recommended along the way. Perhaps you will find these useful also.
